Okay, I rarely ever sew Burda Patterns (the magazine yes, but store patterns, not so much) but I am really feeling these midi skirts so when I saw this pattern I was like YES! I used a navy light weight wool from my stash which I really love and since Fall is here I thought it would be a good staple for the closet.
Pattern Description: Skirt 2 length options and front placket option.
Pattern Sizing: I cut the 8 but had to take it in a lot.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? They were but you know Burda is pretty good with their instructions without being "wordy"
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the length and I love the options to do a button down option.
Fabric Used: Navy Wool
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None beside having to take it in so much, the 8 was the smallest size and was way too big on my waist.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will be making the other version and yes I would recommend this pattern.
Conclusion: Love this skirt! Love, Love, Love lol!
I realized a few months ago that I sew A LOT of dresses, lol but that means that I have very few skirts in my wardrobe (I know hard to believe) so I decided that I would make a few more skirts and will also be working on making some more tops/jackets for fall this season. The boat neck tee was an old self drafted pattern I have that I use often instead of your basic T.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't use them, the skirt is really just so easy to make that if you have made one before you wont need them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love flowy skirts and I had this fabric in my stash for a long time and finally used it for this skirt. The pattern is super simple and you can make this skirt in an hour including cutting time.
Fabric Used: Silk Print from Michael Levin in Downtown LA
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will be making a few more and will be drafting pockets and also making them in a midi length too. Totally recommend this pattern.
Conclusion: I really like this skirt and the silk feels fantastic on my skin ;-)
Here are a few more pics and also a different look with my NY&CO silk top.
I know, I know I totally suck but things have just been out of control, lol. We moved back into the city because living in the boonies was NOT working for me! I have been trying to get settled and trying to fix up my sewing room so I can get busy; which btw, I have done. I have at least 5 new things to show but I need to get my camera working again.
On another note, I have been internet browsing for fall inspirations that will ultimately become knock offs, lol! and I love this new website www.inlovewithfashion.com they have some cute stuff I wanna copy like these:
I am going to fix my camera tonight so I can start taking pics of new wearable's and have some updating to do on other stuff too!
